Another Known Exfluor Leak

PUBLIC NOTICE:
"The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established guidelines which require the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System (BCRWWS) to annually publish Industrial Users that were in significant noncompliance with pretreatment standards.
Based on the information collected by BCRWWS, the following industries have met the EPA criteria for Significant Noncompliance.
ExFluor Research Corporation, located at 2350 Double Creek Drive Round Rock Texas 78664 During the first quarter of the 2019- 2020 pretreatment year,
ExFluor was in significant noncompliance for Technical Review Criteria (TRC)
violation for the daily average discharge limits for fluoride at Outfall 002. During the third quarter of the 2019- 2020 pretreatment year,
ExFluor was in significant noncompliance
for Technical Review Criteria (TRC) violation for the daily average discharge limits for mercury at Outfall 002
and failure to accurately report mercury effluent violation.
During the fourth quarter of the 2019-2020 pretreatment year,
ExFluor was in significant noncompliance for Technical Review Criteria (TRC)
violation for the daily average discharge limits for mercury
at Outfall 002. "

"Patricia Mulvihill, president of the North San Gabriel Alliance, said the Alliance and the community have succeeded in delaying Exfluor’s construction since April 2022. Alliance members are hopeful the upcoming hearings will continue to delay construction until at least December. Mulvihill added that her organization was thrilled when they learned the contested case hearing had been granted."

December 23rd, 2022 NSGA and 9 individuals, with combined 10 issues, were granted a Contested Case Hearing by the TCEQ Commissioners on December 14, 2022.
