"Patricia Mulvihill, president of the North San Gabriel Alliance, said the Alliance and the community have succeeded in delaying Exfluor’s construction since April 2022. Alliance members are hopeful the upcoming hearings will continue to delay construction until at least December. Mulvihill added that her organization was thrilled when they learned the contested case hearing had been granted."
“I live right on the corner near the plant,” said Elizabeth Williams, who is a member of the North San Gabriel Alliance, during the informal question-and-answer period of the meeting. “My family has been there for seven generations, so we’re pretty scared.”
Exfluor Research Corporation needs an air quality permit to build its new facility in the Florence area. The public voiced their concerns if the facility leaks.
