Forever Chemicals: These Toxic Chemicals Are Everywhere
What are "Forever Chemicals?"
According to a 2018 Washington Post opinion piece, Forever Chemicals are a "group of toxic chemicals that may be associated with testicular cancer, kidney cancer, high cholesterol and suppression of vaccine effectiveness in children. They are now in nearly all of our bodies, are found in the air and water around the globe, and they never go away."
Joseph G. Allen goes on to state that Forever Chemicals are characterized by a "fluorine-carbon backbone" that represents "one of the strongest bonds in all of organic chemistry."
Exfluor announced plans to open a new chemical plant our area. EXFLUOR manufactures carbon-fluorine chemicals currently listed under their website products as "Hydrofluorocarbons."

"Patricia Mulvihill, president of the North San Gabriel Alliance, said the Alliance and the community have succeeded in delaying Exfluor’s construction since April 2022. Alliance members are hopeful the upcoming hearings will continue to delay construction until at least December. Mulvihill added that her organization was thrilled when they learned the contested case hearing had been granted."
December 23rd, 2022 NSGA and 9 individuals, with combined 10 issues, were granted a Contested Case Hearing by the TCEQ Commissioners on December 14, 2022.
